Leveling a New Character
Recently I decided I wanted to level up a new character. I decided to go with a Druid for this since I mostly have DPS classes and with a Druid I could try out tanking or healing as I like. Anyway since I’ve leveled up multiple characters to 70 before I don’t want to waste a lot of time leveling and seeing the same stuff again, I’d rather get up in levels faster to do PvP and instances with my friends. So I went looking for a good guide to help me level in the most efficient way possible and that’s exactly what I found in Zygor’s Leveling Guide.
What’s So Great about Zygor’s Guide?
There are a lot of leveling guides available for World of Warcraft and I checked in to all of them when I was trying to pick a guide to use and most of them look to be about the same thing. What struck me as unique about Zygor’s guide is he provides an in game add-on that will put dots on your maps of every location you need to go to all the way from level 1 to level 70 (and then on to level 80 once the expansion gets here.) This add-on is amazing and saves me tons of time, I go to an area do a quest and then just look on my map and see exactly where to go next and what to do there. The add-on he provides is also completely legit and won’t get you banned or anything since it’s made using the WoW UI add-on system.

Also along with this mod you get a 303 page ebook that tells tells you exactly what order to do things in and what coordinates to go to and what to do once you get there. You can literally turn off your brain completely while using this guide and level up pretty much as fast as possible if you want. You also have the option of only following the guide rather loosely and taking it more leisurely because each zone and level within his guide are separated out and you can pick it back up at any time if you venture off the path to do an instance or something. The guide also focuses almost entirely on doing quests with very little grinding so it keeps things interesting.
Another great part of Zygor’s guide is the price. It costs way less than any of the other leveling guides at only $19.95, and with that tiny of a price just think about how little time it needs to save you before it becomes worth it. Trust me it’ll save you way more time than that just from not having to wander around aimlessly wondering where you should go next, whether you should do this quest that might take an hour or this other quest. Zygor has done all the work for you ahead of time and will only pick the quests that help you level as fast as possible not the ones that make you run around like a chicken with your head cut off for hours for a measly 100xp.
Me Using The Guide
Here’s a quick example of how fast things can go when using the guide. This is me just at the start of level 24, notice I had rested experience so the experience went faster than normal but since it’s mostly questing isn’t not quite double speed and you can expect probably 2/3 of this speed without rested experience. I also have a little long played before this level because I didn’t start using the guide until about level 17 or so and so my leveling was slower then. Click for bigger images.
Then here’s me after playing for about half an hour. Notice I’m getting over 30k xp an hour at level 24 which is very good and I’ve gotten nearly half the level in half an hour also very good.
I Definitely Recommend Zygor’s Guide
Since I’ve been using Zygor’s guide my leveling up of my new Druid has been seamless. I know exactly where to go and what to do to get the most xp I can and I keep an eye out for my experience rate and it remains rather steady and high which is very good. I’d definitely recommend this guide to anyone who wants to level up a new character or even your first character, Zygor’s guide will save you lots of time, even if you only use it to avoid the quests that take just a little too much time and aren’t worth it.
